{Summer lovin'} {about time!}

So I guess this will be just one super beefed up post! It's been awhile ;]

So we have been so super busy this summer, and I have fallen behind in posting! Yikes! We have been traveling a lot, celebrating a lot of birthdays, having a lot of play dates, and spending mucho time in the sun/pool :)

Here is a few snaps of the Braylee girl....This was back in May when she turned 6 months and could finally sit up by herself. She loved it. You could almost see the new sense of independence on her face :)
And from this picture you can tell that she might of needed a haircut. As much as I didnt want to, I did! It really helped it grow in more even.

Brody loves spending time with his friends. Jhetty and Bailey are some of his favorites!

Then at the beginning of June we took a trip to Utah to stay with one of my best friends, Jessica :)

We stayed the entire week lounging in the pool, watching movies together, and just having fun! Jess' appartment had a perfect little kiddie pool that was just Brody's size....

And tell me she isn't the cutest water baby you've seen around.....

Anyway it was such a fun random trip (those seem to be the best)! [don't forget to check out Braylee girls' chub.... ha]

Here is a few other silly pictures from June... Braylee weaseled her way down in the couch and got stuck, but thought it was hilarious! And Brody riding a little train at a friends' birthday :)

Braylee at 7 months {june}

and at the end of June Braylee started to show some interest in standing and walking. She always wants you to hold her standing up. If you don't she'll arch her back until you do... so at 7 1/2 months....

At the end of june we also took at trip to Soda Springs to see my Dad. Another random trip! Anyway we got there and my Dad decided he wanted to take Brody on his first fishing trip, and catch his first fish, of course. It was so fun! Brody was so excited. Grandpa Paul was getting a bit worried when we went to the kids pond he knew of that was supposed to be full of fish, and had not been stocked! we drove to two other little creeks.....

and then we found "the spot".......

Brody was so excited to catch this little bugger....he was screaming, "We got him mommy and he's wiggling!" Then Brody and Grandpa let that little bugger back into the water to grow a few more inches ;) My Dad secretly told me that he was getting worried for a bit, I mean, he couldn't ruin his fish slayer reputation and not catch one!

I have just been having fun being mommy, crafting, and tending my garden. This year was our first garden and it has been great. I have loved it. It is so nice to go out in the mornings and pick strawberry's for breakfast or dig up red potatoes for dinner, or in Brody's case, pick EVERY SINGLE radish, and be so proud! I couldn't be mad. ........

July has been stuffed full of fun, but soooo busy! Braylee is eight months old! I cant believe how fast time has gone. It seems like yesterday, literally. But she is SO fun. I love this age. She is learning to do things on command and it is so exciting to watch her learn. Her new thing is when we tell her to bounce, she sits on her bum and bounces up and down with her upper body.... So cute! She doesn't have any teeth yet, and I'm OK with that! She is not eating many solids yet either. She also has learned sign language for drink...

She is so ready to move, but she just doesn't. She'll sit on the floor and rock back and forth on her bum and hands like she want to go and crawl, but never does ;) Brody and Braylee are best-est of friends. I am honestly not sure what she would do if she didn't have Brody pestering her most of the day. She has gotten so sassy to the point where she will squeal even when he gets close!

They spend most of the day together. Whether it is on the slip~n~slide.....

or in the bath......

or just posing for mom.....

And Braylee girl on her way to 9 months old and still toothless!

Over the 4th we got to go back to Salmon, my home town, and had so much fun.... We played at the lake, went golfing and saw old friends :]

I guess I was the only lucky one to get some dandy pictures of my amazing skills.....

Needless to say, I couldn't get up :]

We decided to come back to twin for the fireworks at CSI.....Supporting the ReD, wHiTe, and BlUe.....

And now for one of the best stories yet. Brody is such a good kid. Brody is such a spoiled little boy too. It seems every time we go to the store he gets something...even if it's just costs a dollar. Dad decided it was time to change this little outlook a bit. We were at Walmart one evening and Brody wanted this bike with training wheels pretty bad. Derek told him no and after a few screaming fits we made it to the car and home. Derek decided that he wanted to teach Brody the meaning of working for something.

So when we got home Derek and Brody found a jar, drew a picture of a bike, and came to the understanding that when that jar had 42 candies in it (the cost of the bike), he would be able to go buy the bike.

He explained to him that he would have to do "nice" things to get candies in his jar, i.e. be nice to Braylee, say the prayer, pick up his toys. It took that boy 3 1/2 diligent weeks to earn that money. I have never seen a 3 year old work so hard for something. It was great ;] When we went to get his bike, he kept saying, "Mommy, I get to take it home right?" I guess it was just too good to be true ;)

One proud bike owner:

Well that is all for now.... what a post!
